The BM-V3 blends the best of the V2 with the latest in aerodynamic research, along with hydraulic and engineering technology. Key features of the BM-V3 include
- Reduction of aero drag
- Increased righting moment
- Snug fitting deck seal
- Streamlined control lines and flight control system
- Ergonomic deck
OPTIMAL HULL SHAPE
Recent flow analysis revealed that the quantum leap in hull shape was made with the V1. The sleek hull shape continues to offer the most optimal aerodynamic performance.
REDUCING AERO DRAG - THE PLAN FORM
The plan form area has been reduced by moving the forward beam aft 65mm and the outboard end of the aft beam forward 80mm.
The aft outboard end has also been lowered by 20mm.
REDUCING AERO DRAG - SMOOTH DECK SURFACE
The fore and aft beam section shape and both wing decks have been refined to encourage attached airflow.
A cleat plate is incorporated into the wings which reduces the protrusion of fittings.
All control lines and systems have been moved to below the deck.
REDUCING AERO DRAG - STREAMLINED CONNECTIONS
The wing and deck connection locks together perfectly to create a smooth surface.
The hiking strap mount is incorporate into the deck wing to reduce drag.
REDUCING AERO DRAG - INTERNAL CHAINPLATES
A titanium rod that has a threaded outboard end, sits inside a seal and runs down the leading edge of the forward beam.
This chainplate is easy to adjust and keeps windage to a minimum around the chainplate connection area.
