San Diego, CA – October 20 – The Sail Shop, a leading provider of performance sailing equipment and coaching solutions, is proud to announce a new dealership partnership with Mackay Boats New Zealand, the internationally renowned builder of high-performance race dinghies for Olympic Classes, Youth Classes, and the VX Sailing range of high-performance boats.

This collaboration marks a significant step in bringing world-class racing craft and innovation to the heart of California’s sailing scene.

Under the leadership of Gabriel Aguilera, founder of The Sail Shop and long-time sailing professional, this new partnership bridges the gap between elite-level craftsmanship and local racing passion. Aguilera’s deep experience in high-performance sailing and his involvement across international regattas will ensure that sailors throughout California have direct access to Mackay Boats range—along with the knowledge and support needed to excel on the water.

The Sail Shop will serve as Mackay Boats’ official distributor for the U.S. West Coast, providing sales, service, and local support for the range of Mackay models, including -

· Youth-Class boats – International 420, 29er

· VX Sailing range for recreational high-performance sailing – VX One, VX Two, VX Evo.

Demonstration boats and hands-on test opportunities will be available beginning in Fall 2025.
