It’s official, the new Mackay Bieker BM-V3 is a rocket! In its first major regatta at Foiling Week 2024, Malcesine, Italy, this was the regatta to watch the BM-V3 in action. And what a regatta......the BM-V3 won 6 of the eight races, taking out the two top spots, with the BM-V2 (Mackay Bieker) winning the other two races.
Congratulations to podium sailors - Enzo Balanger (FRA) 1st, Mattias Coutts (NZL) 2nd, and Simon Hiscock (GBR) 3rd.
Eight of the top 10 sailed a Mackay Bieker, leaving little doubt about the overall performance edge a Mackay Bieker has.
The event was sailed in unusual conditions for the usually consistent Lake Garda winds, with a full breeze range, from very light to very windy. Impressively, the BM-V3 showed how the performance bar has been raised yet again, across all conditions.
The BM-V3 project began last year with a focus on aerodynamic improvements, handling performance, and exceptional quality. Along with the new BM-V3 model, a new rudder horizontal (RH-V4) also proved its worth as an all-round foil at the event, providing a notable advantage when the breeze was 8 knots plus. The RH-V3 however, was still the king performer in light (6 knot) airs.
